Stairs and handrails.

Straight runs, switchbacks, curved stringers, spirals — and the railings that go with them, from picket rails to safety-yellow guardrail.

What it covers

A curved stringer takes shape on the floor with a fitter sitting at the top of it. A spiral lands inside a tower, mesh treads and all. A theatre mezzanine gets its curved picket rail; a plant gets its guardrail in safety yellow.

Stairs are the part of the steel everybody touches. They get built accordingly — square, solid, and to code.
